The 2016 Kia Optima LX and EX trims are powered by a 2.4 L I-4 engine that gets up to 185 hp and 178 lb-ft of torque. The LX 1.6T model has an exclusive 1.6 L turbocharged engine that generates a maximum of 178 hp and 195 lb-ft of torque. This engine is paired with a 7-Speed Dual-Clutch Transmission (DCT) that offers sporty gear shifting. For maximum power, you could opt for the turbocharged 2.0 L engine that's rated at 245 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque. A six-speed automatic transmission is standard in all of the Kia Optima editions except the LX 1.6T. Additionally, a Sportmatic Sports Shifter further improves handling in all of the Optima trims.
