Interior
The 2016 Kia Sorento has three rows of seats with a capacity for up to seven passengers. Eight-way power front seats are standard, and a 14-way power adjustable driver's seat is available in the Sorento SX V6 and above models. The second row has a 40/20/40 layout, and the third row includes a 50/50 split-folding configuration. Featuring Yes Essentials fabric, cloth upholstery is standard in the 2016 Kia Sorento L, LX and LX V6 editions. Leather-appointed seats are available only in the EX and above trims. Alloy pedals and premium Nappa leather are some of the luxurious amenities that are featured in the Limited and Limited V6 versions. Interior comfort is guaranteed with amenities such as dual zone automatic climate control and window sunshades in the second row.

Available in the 2016 Kia Sorento EX and above trims, an eight-inch UVO system comes with GPS navigation that's connected to Sirius Traffic feeds. If you have an EX or above trim, you can listen to SiriusXM Satellite Radio and HD Radio through the Infinity Surround Sound System. Featuring Clari-Fi technology, this advanced audio system includes ten speakers, external amplifier and subwoofer. Some standard high-tech amenities in the Kia Sorento include Bluetooth® wireless technology and Eco-Minder Fuel Efficiency Indicator.
Performance
Rated at 185 hp, a 2.4 L engine is installed in the 2016 Kia Sorento L and LX trims. In the EX and Limited editions, a 2.0 L turbocharged engine delivers up to 240 horsepower. A 3.3 L V6 engine generates a maximum of 290 horsepower in the LX V6, EX V6, SX V6 and Limited V6 models. All three engine blocks use Dual Continously Variable Valve Timing (CVVT) and Gasoline Direct Injection (GDI). The Sorento is equipped with a six-speed automatic transmission featuring overdrive and Sportmatic Sport shifter. Such an advanced transmission system is compatible with the Front Wheel Drive (FWD) and optional Dynamax All Wheel Drive (AWD). The locking center differential and Torque Vectoring Corner Control are some other features that can improve the capabilities of this Kia crossover SUV.
Safety
Equipped with standard Vehicle Stability Management and Electronic Stability Control, the 2016 Kia Sorento stays on track even on slippery or rough terrains. The Traction Control System also guarantees a road-gripping drive by adjusting the powertrain and braking system according to road conditions. Advanced active safety features that are available only in the EX and above trims include Blind Spot Detection and Rear Cross Traffic Alert. The Forward Collision Warning System and Lane Departure Warning System are exclusively installed in the Limited and Limited V6 models. If the Sorento gets into an accident, side curtain airbags deploy to protect all of the occupants. The front cabin in this crossover SUV is further protected by traditional air bags and seat-mounted air bags.
